A Seminar for Elementary/Middle/High School Teachers and Other Educators

Date/Time:            Saturday, November 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Breakfast and lunch included.

Location:               Milpitas Community Library, Josephine Guerrero Community Room, 40 N. Milpitas Blvd., Milpitas, CA 95035. (directions are on the back of the flyer)

Cost:                     Free with breakfast, lunch, and educational materials provided. 

Organized by:       Indic Culture and Traditions Seminar (ICATS) and Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), Bay Area Chapter, Non Profit organizations. 

Professional Development Hours:

                              Certificates for 4 hours attendance will be issued on completion. Previous Seminar held in Bay Area on March 15 and Sep 27. Seminars held in TX in 2001-03 were approved by Houston ISD, Alief ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Aldine ISD, Klein ISD, Spring Branch ISD and other ISDs for professional development credit hours.

Course presenters, content, and format:

Mr. Easan Katir, a Fund Manager and Investment Advisor by profession, is a scholar of Comparative Religions which he studied during graduation. He is a “multimedia” personality who appears on TV (CNBC and Bloomberg television) and contributes regularly to the global magazine, Hinduism Today. He has spoken on Hinduism at Temples (like the Sri
Venkateshwara Temple in Pittsburgh, PA) and at Campuses (like Stanford). Given his life experiences in both the Western and Eastern hemispheres, his talks are very informative and enjoyable to audiences from both hemispheres of the world.

                              Plenty of time will be allotted for questions and answers and interaction with members of the Indian-American Hindu community during lunch.

                              Indian music and/or dance presentation.

                              Breaks with snacks, Books and educational materials on display.

                              Delicious Indian lunch included (no charge)

Target audience:  Teachers of World History, World Geography, World Religion and Contemporary World Cultures. Counselors who want to better understand Hindu students on their campuses. Teachers/Educators/others who value cultural diversity and wish to know more about the Hindu way of life.
